The Division of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics in the Department of Epidemiology and Public Health, with the Departments of Neurosurgery and Neurology, and the Marlene and Stuart Greenebaum Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Maryland School of Medicine invites applications for an Assistant to Associate Professor specializing in biostatistics/bioinformatics/ data science/Computatiinal biology as applied to clinical and pre-clinical data.

Qualifications :

The successful candidate demostrates success is publised studies and in engaging multidisciplinary strategies to address high-impact research questions through the application iof data science. The candidate will engage in collaborative research that drwas upon the expertise of researchers in the School of Medicine by submitting and contributing to grant applications, designing experiments, analyzing data and publishing scholarly articles. We are interested in candidates who have demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching/mentoring, research and service, which contribute to an equitable, inclusive and diverse scholarly environment. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

Candidates must have a doctoral degree in Biostatistics, Statistics, Epidemiology or equivalent in a relevent field to qualify for a faculty position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor (tenure track). Candidates with experience in anlaysis of high-dimensionality " big data" from high-throughput bioassays; experience with use and manipulation of clinical datasets for outcomes and.or cost-effectiveness analyses, are preferred. Candidates with a record of extramural research funding may be given priority.
