Job Summary

The Office of Community Experience (OCE) is responsible for developing, implementing, and supporting community service-learning courses and service projects for medical students. This includes various student-volunteer activities in the community, as well as advising and supporting the Health Outreach Project (HOP), run by Drexel medical students, which provides care to underserved Philadelphians through free health clinics. This is a part-time assignment with a current end date of June 30, 2022, with the possibility of extension.

Essential Functions

Under the direction of the OCE Co-Directors, this position will:
  • Oversee HOP student training in conjunction with student leaders
  • Advise students in the development and operations of HOP service sites and coordinate contracts with sites
  • Advise HOP student leadership as needed for problem-solving and transition issues
  • Coordinate grants: ensure uniform data collection at all sites and track all data centrally for analysis and reporting
  • Oversee Naloxone Outreach Project, including community trainings and conference presentations
  • Maintain budget spreadsheets and participate in preparation of formal project reports
  • Fulfill other related responsibilities as required by Academic and Program Directors
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree
  • Dedication to provision of health services to underserved communities
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience in medical education preferred
