The Director for Interprofessional Education provides the
leadership and operational support for the design, implementation,
and ongoing evaluation of interprofessional curricula within the
College of Health and Pharmacy. The goal of this work is to
transform future healthcare practitioners into collaborative
healthcare team members who focus on client-centered care and who
function with an appreciation for the contributions of each team
member to improving healthcare outcomes. This is a 0.5 FTE position
with a direct report to the Dean, College of Health and
Pharmacy.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other
duties may be assigned.
• Establish a culture of interprofessional education within the College of Health and Pharmacy to ensure students/graduates can participate as effective members of an interdisciplinary healthcare team. This may be accomplished by teaching and facilitating IPE coursework
• Incorporate, and be knowledgeable about, the interprofessional education expectations of relevant external stakeholders into the IPE curriculum that align at minimum with accreditation standards, the Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) Core Competencies, and the Health Professions Accreditors Collaborative (HPAC).
• Serve as an effective resource for faculty and programs to design, implement, and evaluate interprofessional education experiences.
• Identify, collaborate, and develop appropriate partnerships with key stakeholders across the College of Health and Pharmacy and the community to ensure students receive the highest quality interprofessional educational experiences.
• Provide leadership to develop robust assessments of learning objectives to ensure competency and readiness, aligned with programmatic accreditation expectations, to function as a member of an interdisciplinary healthcare team.
• Serve as an ongoing resource to faculty, students, and programs to manage their interprofessional education experiences and standards.
• Chair the college interprofessional committee which helps in advising and training faculty in IPE, as well as creating IPE curricula. The committee will work with college program administrators to set participation requirements for all students enrolled in each academic program within the College of Health and Pharmacy.
• Serve, as requested, on the College Dean's Leadership Cabinet and/or specific academic Executive Team(s).
Qualifications:

Education:
Minimum of an MS degree in a healthcare discipline (Professional Doctorate preferred)
Experience:
• Minimum of 3 years of experience as a healthcare practitioner, preferably in an interdisciplinary environment.
• Demonstrated knowledge of interprofessional education within healthcare educational programs.
• Higher education experience. Preference is given to individuals who have experience with curricular development including designing learning objectives, curricular mapping, and outcomes assessment.
• Evidence of leadership skills including the ability to work effectively with individuals and groups at multiple levels.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, verbal, and virtual communication skills.
