Job Summary
The T. J. Smull College of
Engineering at Ohio Northern University (ONU) is experiencing
record growth in students and is looking to expand the number of
tenure-track faculty positions. We are seeking to recruit four
talented individuals for full-time, tenure-track faculty positions
in the ECCS Department. We hope to attract individuals to apply who
are passionate about teaching and are invested in the success of
our undergraduate students. Our faculty members encourage students
to ask questions, develop confidence in their abilities, and engage
in high-impact learning opportunities such as undergraduate
research, student competition teams, and immersive design
experiences. If you would like to be a part of a professional,
collaborative team devoted to making a significant and lasting
impact on the lives of young computer scientists and engineers, the
ECCS Department at ONU invites you to apply for one of four faculty
positions to begin August 16, 2022. Candidates should be committed
to advancing the knowledge and practice of computing and
engineering pedagogy. Successful candidates will join faculty in a
new, state-of-the-art 105,000 sq. ft. building designed to allow
more opportunities for high-impact learning. ONU is part of the
Kern Entrepreneurial Engineering Network (KEEN) and is committed to
instilling the entrepreneurial mindset in our undergraduate
computer science and engineering students.

Principle Responsibilities: Teaching existing courses within either the electrical engineering, computer engineering, and/or computer science programs is expected. Professional development and service to the department, college, university, profession, and community are also expected.
Required Skills:
The applicant must be
committed to teaching excellence in undergraduate engineering and
computer science education and must possess excellent verbal and
written communication skills.
Candidates with specialties in one or more areas of electrical engineering, computer engineering, and/or computer science are encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates with expertise in communication systems, electronic systems, embedded systems, computer networks, artificial intelligence, data science, and cybersecurity.
Minimum Qualifications:
Ph.D. candidates
(ABD) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer
Science.
Preferred Qualifications: An earned Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Data Science. Industry experience, teaching experience, and professional certifications will be viewed favorably.
