The Department of Finance in John Chambers College of Business and Economics at West Virginia University (WVU) invites applications for non-tenure track Teaching Assistant Professor in Finance beginning January 1, 2022.

West Virginia University (and The John Chambers College of Business and Economics) is especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and/or service, to the diversity and excellence of the academic community.

Qualifications :

The ideal candidate has attained a doctoral degree in business with a specialty area of finance, has demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level, and holds a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation with the ability to teach graduate level courses. The primary areas of responsibility are teaching (80%) and service (20%).

Teaching responsibilities include instruction at both the undergraduate and graduate levels (face-to-face, online, or hybrid). Teaching Assistant Professors in finance typically teach 4 courses each semester. The specific courses have not yet been assigned to this position and may depend on the qualifications and interests of the candidate. Examples of functional teaching areas include corporate finance, investments, and energy finance. Other responsibilities include service-related functions to the department, college, and university. The selected candidate is expected to contribute to the mission of the program in the areas of teaching and service, whilst also supporting programmatic growth and aspirational goals such as, elevating the stature of the program.
