The School of Social Work at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites nominations and applications for two tenure-track, open rank positions for appointments that will be made at the level of assistant, associate, or full professor. Candidates should have an exceptional record of externally funded research, publications, and teaching, all in relation to career stage. As a public research university, we embrace the translation of evidence in service to our state, the nation, and in international settings.

These nine-month faculty positions will start July 1, 2022.

At Carolina, we believe that diversity, equity, and inclusion are the cornerstones of excellence. We seek a pool of applicants with varied backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives who wish to join an academic community that places the highest value on rigorous, applied, and transformative scholarship. We welcome applications from individuals whose research advances knowledge relevant to social work practice and policy across a range of substantive areas. This includes applicants whose research examines the intersection of systems and policies that may perpetuate racially, socially, and economically unjust conditions, as well as applicants whose research is focused on groups that have been systematically excluded.

Applicants must possess a doctorate in social work or a related field. Degrees in social work are preferred; post-MSW practice experience is highly valued.

Applications should be submitted online at: https://unc.peopleadmin.com/postings/200291 Applications should include a cover letter; curriculum vitae; and the names of four-to-six persons who can provide the equivalent of peer-review evaluations of the candidate’s research and scholarship. (If selected for interview, four letters of evaluation are required. References will be contacted only at later stages of the search process.)

Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the positions are filled. Please address questions to sswfacultysearch@unc.edu
