Advising Office Coordinator

Emporia State University invites applicants for Advising Office Coordinator in the Department of Elementary Education/Early Childhood/Special Education, The Teachers College. The position is located in Emporia, KS.

Responsibilities:

The successful applicant will serve as the academic advisor to students in the elementary education program, helping them succeed in their academic program through graduation and state licensure. Duties include recruitment, admission, and retention of students in the program; maintaining a relationship with the Student Advising Center (SAC); Block Application process and orientation; helping students with academic requirements, monitoring progress towards degree, and academic policies and procedures; oversee and manage programming and student information at all on and off-campus sites; supervise student workers; and serve as a liaison for Elementary Education on University Committees. 

Qualifications:

Requires a bachelor’s degree in Education, Counseling, or a related field, as well as at least one year of progressively responsible experience in advising, or a related function within higher education.
