Position Summary

The Division of Student Life invites applications for the Business Analyst position. In this role, you will work to achieve standards of excellence with service processes and outcomes.

Your duties will include:
  • Analyze data, costs of business activity, audit and prepare reports and recommendations based on findings
  • Participate in the annual budget planning and fee processes
  • Prepare and present financial reports
  • Analyze the operations of revenue sensitive units including monthly/ YTD revenue to budget, accounts receivable, and budget to actual; identify trends, advise on issues and concerns
  • Leverage existing university systems to establish and maintain a system of cost accounting
  • Prepare proformas for new and proposed service costs and associated fees

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
  • Three years of demonstrated working knowledge and experience performing accurate and detailed financial analysis with an emphasis on cost analysis, breakeven analysis, and variance analysis.
  • Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles and internal control measures (i.e. Sarbanes Oxley compliance) [RB1] [LK2] is required.
  • The incumbent must demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills. They will have the ability to work independently, manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize own work to meet deadlines.
  • They must be detail and process-oriented and have the ability to communicate information and respond to inquiries/requests with diplomacy and tact across all levels within the organization. Strong leadership qualities are a must.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or CPA, CCA, or CMA certification preferred.
