Compensation and Benefits

Anticipated Hiring Salary Range: $5,402 - $5,672 per month

Full Classification Salary Range: $5,402 - $6,904 per month

• This is a full-time (equivalent to 40 hours per week), probationary, non-exempt position.

The CSU system provides a comprehensive benefit package that includes medical, dental and vision plans, membership in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS), sick and vacation time, and 14 paid holidays a year. Job Summary

Under general supervision, incumbents in this classification perform the full range of skilled journey-level locksmith work. Incumbents in this classification assist in the development of master key systems and the design of special security devices and are independently responsible for the implementation and maintenance of these programs along with the Campus Key Policy. Incumbents in this classification also may provide instruction and lead direction to unskilled and semi-skilled workers.

Key Qualifications

• Thorough knowledge of the methods, materials, tools and equipment used in the locksmith trades, including complex access and control systems
• Thorough knowledge of all types of locks, safes, fastening devices, and related hardware
• Working knowledge of electrical locking and security systems and devices
• Thorough knowledge of applicable state codes pertaining to the locksmith trade inlcuding those related to fire exits, door hardware and fastening devices
• Ability to maintain computerized inventory and master locking systems records
• Ability to code, cut, and impression keys

Education and Experience

• These abilities are acquired through any combination of progressively responsible training and experience which demonstrates achievement of journey-level skills acquired through completion of a locksmith’s apprenticeship program.

Following a conditional offer of employment, a background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate may start work with California State University, Fresno.
