Job Description

Job Description

Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi (TAMU-CC) is seeking an experienced leader to serve as its Associate Vice President for Research and Innovation (R&I). This position reports directly to the Vice President for R&I.

The University:

TAMU-CC is a vibrant, relatively young doctoral granting University and Hispanic-Serving Institution (HSI). TAMU-CC recently celebrated its R2 Doctoral University - High Research Activity classification by Carnegie Commission of Higher Education.

TAMU-CC offers a highly talented faculty and an array of undergraduate and graduate degrees, including doctoral programs, offered in the five academic colleges of Business, Education & Human Development, Liberal Arts, Nursing and Health Sciences, and Science and Engineering.

TAMU-CC possesses the key elements to support its move to the next level among its peers as a major Hispanic-serving research university. In the most recent fiscal year, the University has made major steps to increase its portfolio in National Science Foundation and National Institutes of Health. With faculty in each of its five colleges serving as principal investigators, the successful candidate will have a breadth of fields in their research development portfolio. As a member of the Texas A&M University System, the school benefits from a range of centralized resources, increased visibility and political clout, and opportunities to collaborate in mutually beneficial ways with peers across member institutions and associated agencies.
