The University of St. Thomas (UST), a private Catholic University committed to the liberal arts and the religious and intellectual tradition of Catholic higher education, located in Houston, Texas, near the vibrant central business district, Texas Medical Center, and museum district, is seeking applicants for a full-time Director and Open Rank Professor position of the Master of Public Policy and Administration (MPPA) Program and Political Science. This position reports directly to the Division Dean of Social and Behavioral Sciences and Global Studies.

Summary:

Position begins August 2022.


The primary responsibilities for this position include teaching courses in support of the MPPA and political science programs and serving as the director of the MPPA program. This role also includes academic and internship advising, program recruitment and marketing, class schedules and curricular development, and engaging in cross-campus communications to ensure effective processes related to admissions, marketing, and registration.


The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D. in public administration or policy, political science, or related discipline and have prior teaching experience in MPPA-related courses. Active contacts in federal, state, and local government and applied public sector experience are highly preferred.
