The Department of Surgery is seeking aPayroll Coordinator who will report to the Finance Manager to ensure smooth and efficient functioning for the division. Provide payroll support to department faculty, staff, students/trainees, supervisors and administration covering the following: personnel records and payroll management.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Process payroll and initiate payroll forms for the following:
  • Faculty Pediatric Call Payments
  • Faculty JHH & Bayview Trauma Call Payments
  • Residents Moonlighting – all units
  • Payments for extra hours worked
  • Expense Reimbursement past 90 days
  • Payments to NPs and Pas for extra time
  • Process and term Residents on T32 at the beginning/end of fiscal year
  • Process annual Faculty bonus/supplements
  • Staff Time Entry Processing: JHU/CATS, JHHS/Kronos, Workforce Management (WFM)
  • Prepares payroll forms; monitors and maintains appropriate payroll related documents; prepares weekly payroll; researches and resolves payroll issues for employees.
  • Prepares eforms for distribution of salary.
  • Minimum Qualifications (Mandatory):

    • High School Diploma or GED required.
    • Three or more years related experience required.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Some college courses preferred.

    Special Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • SAP and Business Analysis knowledge.
    • Knowledge of procedures in human resources.
    • Active listening, giving full attention to others.

    Technical Qualifications or Specialized Certifications:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.

    Starting Salary Range: $17.25 - $23.72/hr (commensurate with experience)

    The pre-employment physical for positions in clinical areas, laboratories, working with research subjects, or involving community contact requires documentation of immune status against Rubella (German measles), Rubeola (Measles), Mumps, Varicella (chickenpox), Hepatitis B and documentation of having received the Tdap (Tetanus, diphtheria, pertussis) vaccination. This may include documentation of having two (2) MMR vaccines; two (2) Varicella vaccines; or antibody status to these diseases from laboratory testing. Blood tests for immunities to these diseases are ordinarily included in the pre-employment physical exam except for those employees who provide results of blood tests or immunization documentation from their own health care providers. Any vaccinations required for these diseases will be given at no cost in our Occupational Health office.
