The Business Administration Department in the Leo J. Meehan School of Business at Stonehill College invites applications for a tenure track Assistant Professor in the Management program beginning Fall 2022. We are looking for applicants with expertise or experience in Human Resources Management, International Business, or Management. Stonehill College is dedicated to the goal of building a diverse faculty and strongly encourages applications from those who will enrich the diversity of the campus community, including diversity of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, and disability.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Tenure track faculty have a 3-3 teaching load (courses ordinarily limited to 25 students), are expected to advise students, have a strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusivity, and to engage in other forms of service to the Department and College, Faculty are expected to be actively engaged scholars, producing research that complements and informs the in-class experience. 

We seek candidates who are dedicated educators with the ability to teach a variety of undergraduate courses in management (especial HRM) and/or international business (based on their educational background, areas of research, or industry experience), including one or more of the following areas:  Strategic Human Resources courses (e.g., selection, training, performance management), International Business survey course (this is an overview class, deep expertise is not necessary, just a willingness to learn), International Human Resources Management. We would also value the ability to teach other courses: Management courses such as Organizational Behavior and other related classes (e.g., leadership), and Introduction to Business (first-year course taught by a rotating interdisciplinary group of faculty).

Successful candidates should show a strong interest in teaching and mentoring undergraduate students and enjoy working closely with student advisees to establish academic and professional goals. Commitment to serving the Department, School, and College is also essential. Connection to industry or having professional experience outside of academia is highly valued.

Education & Experience

A successful candidate will have completed a doctorate in Human Resources Management, International Business, Management, or related field, or will finish their degree by September 1, 2022. Applicants should show evidence of current research productivity and future scholarly publication (e.g., relevant peer-reviewed publications, presentations at conferences, manuscripts under review, research in progress, etc.)  Industry or professional experience outside of academia is highly valued, but not required.

Applications will be reviewed beginning on October 22nd and will be accepted until the position is filled. We expect to decide on campus visits in early November so please submit by November 8th to receive full consideration. During the review process, Committee members may interview applicants who appear to be a good match for the position via Zoom or conference call.

  6. List of References. Please include of list three recommenders upon prompt and an email will go out to your recommenders to obtain a letter of reference.
