The Department of Music seeks a part-time faculty member to teach applied voice lessons beginning in Spring 2022. There may be additional opportunities to teach courses in Class Voice and Vocal Diction as well as Music Appreciation, Global Music, Jazz Appreciation, Rhythm and Rock, History of Musical Theatre, and Intro to Hip-Hop depending on the department’s needs and the candidate’s expertise. Excellence in teaching and learning conducted within a rigorous and stimulating environment is an important core value of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke. The Music Department has a strong commitment to undergraduate teaching and part-time faculty are expected to maintain department and university standards.

The successful candidate must hold a master’s degree in voice performance or voice pedagogy and demonstrate significant professional experience.

Work Location: Main campus of the University of North Carolina at Pembroke (UNCP) 

The Music Department is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM). It has a strong record of teaching, publication, and service, and additional information about the university (uncp.edu) and department (uncp.edu/music) are available online.

Minimum Training and Education Requirements: The successful candidate must hold a master’s degree in voice performance or voice pedagogy and demonstrate significant professional experience. Prior experience teaching in higher education. Experience using learning management systems (Canvas).
