For appointment at the rank of Associate Professor:
  1. A Ph.D. or D.B.A. in finance or closely related field.
  2. Demonstrated excellent scholarship as shown through publications that have enabled the candidate to be successfully promoted to Associate Professor at a research-oriented university of a similar or higher research profile as the University of Kansas.
  3. Record of productive teaching excellence in finance.
  4. A proven record or demonstrated high potential in research and publications.
  5. A clear ability (or high potential) to teach effectively at undergraduate, masters, and/or Ph.D. levels.

For appointment at the rank of Full Professor:
  1. A Ph.D. or D.B.A. in finance or closely related field.
  2. Sustained record of excellent scholarship as shown through publications that have enabled the candidate to be successfully promoted to Full Professor at research-oriented university of a similar or higher research profile as the University of Kansas.
  3. Established record of teaching excellence in finance, as well as experience directing doctoral students.
  4. A proven record or demonstrated high potential in research and publications.
  5. A clear ability to teach effectively at undergraduate, masters, and/or Ph.D. levels.

Position Overview

The School of Business at the University of Kansas is searching for an Associate or Full Professor in Finance for the 2022-2023 academic year. Strong candidates will demonstrate expertise in two or more of the following areas: corporate finance, financial institutions, international finance, investments, or risk management. This is a full-time, tenure/tenure-track position beginning August 18, 2022.
The University of Kansas, School of Business has been educating students and creating business leaders since 1924. In May 2016, the school moved into the $70.5 million, 166,500-square-foot Capitol Federal Hall . The main campus is located in Lawrence, Kansas, 45 minutes west of Kansas City.
