    Position Overview

    The School of Business at the University of Kansas is searching for an Assistant Professor in Business Analytics for the 2022-2023 academic year. This is a full-time, tenure-track position beginning August 18, 2022. This position will interact with students, faculty, industry partners, and the broader business community through instruction, research and service focusing on business analytics and information systems.

    The University of Kansas, School of Business has been educating students and creating business leaders since 1924. In May 2016, the school moved into the $70.5 million, 166,500-square-foot Capitol Federal Hall . The main campus is located in Lawrence, Kansas, 45 minutes west of Kansas City.     Candidates with experience in the application of data analytics or information management to contemporary business problems should highlight their expertise in their application packet. Candidate’s special interests such as in the areas of business intelligence, decision support systems, cloud computing, data visualization/graphics, data mining, information systems, machine learning, multivariate and/or Bayesian statistics, computer simulation and modeling, Big Data analytics, scripting languages or programming frameworks (e.g. R, SAS, SQL, Python, Hadoop, Java, MatLab), data management platforms (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and/or analytics tools (Spotfire, Tableau, Oracle Data Visualization, Pentaho, etc.) should be outlined in the research statement required as part of the application package. Additional relevant interests such as engagement with the business community on digital innovation, data analysis, and providing insights and solutions in the application fields of health care, energy, fraud detection, finance, retailing, insurance, and/or transportation/logistics should also be outlined in application materials.

    Letters of recommendation will be requested from selected applicants as the search process moves beyond the initial screening round.
