The Department of Leadership, Technology, & Workforce Development in the Dewar College of Education and Human Services seeks applicants for a tenure track, faculty position beginning August 1, 2022.  The selected candidate will be responsible for teaching courses in the candidate’s area of expertise, maintaining scholarly productivity, and participating in service at the department, college, and university levels.

The Department of Leadership, Technology, & Workforce Development develops practitioners and researchers who are knowledgeable and skilled in improving school and other learning organizations in our region and beyond. We offer doctoral programs in Curriculum and Instruction, Educational Leadership, and Adult Education/Human Resource Development; specialist programs in Educational Leadership and Instructional Technology; master’s programs in Higher Education Leadership, Instructional Technology, and Adult Education; and bachelor programs in Adult Education.  We also offer a variety of programs that lead to Georgia educator certification, Library Media concentrations, and an endorsement and certificate in online teaching for both P-12 educators and non-P-12 professionals.  For more information about the department, our programs, and diverse faculty, visit

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsibilities include teaching human resource development and adult and career education courses at the undergraduate level and graduate levels (bachelor, master’s, and/or doctoral) in a variety of modalities (i.e., face to face, online, and/or hybrid).  Maintain scholarly productivity and participate in service at the department, college, and university levels.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Doctoral degree in human resource development, adult learning, adult and career education, human performance improvement, or closely-related field prior to appointment date;
  • Ability to teach and develop online courses and infuse technology in the delivery of instruction;
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learning, as well as scholarship;  
  • Commitment to diversity and inclusion.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Record of successful teaching appropriate to applicant’s career stage;
  • Experience serving on doctoral dissertation committees;
  • Ability to lead department/program initiatives and work effectively in a collaborative setting;
  • A record of mentoring students of diverse backgrounds.

The Dewar College of Education and Human Services prepares professionals for multiple roles in 21st century educational, business, and community settings.
