Towson University’s Albert S. Cook Library seeks a dynamic and
innovative individual to serve as the Library Instruction
Coordinator. Our library is committed to recruiting and retaining a
diverse library staff by considering applicants from a wide variety
of backgrounds and experiences. The Library Instruction Coordinator
serves as liaison and subject specialist for selected departments
and programs as assigned. Provides leadership and vision for the
libraries’ inclusive instruction program that supports student
success, including leading efforts on curriculum mapping to inform
decisions about synchronous and asynchronous offerings. Takes the
lead role in the development, promotion, implementation and
assessment of the library’s information literacy instruction
program, encompassing primary source, visual and data literacies.
Plans and teaches information literacy in liaison area and other
disciplines. Towson University places a high priority on the
importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Candidates will be
expected to explain how they have been and could be involved in
advancing this campus goal. This position is a 12-month faculty
status position available in Fall 2021. Master’s degree in library
or information science from an ALA-accredited institution or
equivalent; a strong commitment to supporting the academic and
research needs of students, faculty and staff; demonstrated skill
in library instruction and information literacy; and a commitment
to issues of diversity, equity, and inclusion are required;
experience providing leadership in various contexts (e.g. projects,
initiatives, committees, etc) preferred. Rank is determined by
qualifications at time of appointment. Review of applications
