The School of Graduate Studies at Messiah University currently has a full-time opening for the position of Assistant Registrar.

Responsibilities: This full-time position administers processes and provides services related to academic records, registration and class schedule, enforcement of academic policies, and modifies, updates, interprets student information, applies academic policy to a variety of situations, and resolves reported errors in academic records. Likewise, this position works closely with program directors and advisors to administer the processes for credential certification and graduation supports the academic advisement and registration processes and is responsible for the end-of-semester processes ensuring accurate and timely updating of the students’ academic record. This position also oversees and facilitates the maintenance of the degree audit program for the graduate curriculum and coordinates the School of Graduate Studies commencement responsibilities that are assigned to the Registrar’s Office.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred; 3-4 years higher education management or registrar’s office experience required, Supervisory experience preferred.

Skills and Characteristics: Excellent organizational, time management and independent thinking skills; demonstrated strengths in design, development, and implementation of business practices; strong project management skills including a commitment to timely follow-up; rigorous attention to detail; ability to work independently and as a member of a team; excellent verbal, listening, written and interpersonal skills; ability to work effectively with a wide range of campus constituents; demonstrated commitment to excellent student (customer) service; detailed knowledge and understanding of enterprise software systems; strong knowledge and experience with PC applications including report writers, Microsoft Office Suite, and other specialized software tools; adept in computer literacy with knowledge of and experience with computerized student information systems; demonstrated proficiency in WEB application development for records management; working knowledge of FERPA regulations, Red Flags and related compliance issue
