Field Operations Assistant (Temporary)



Department: Urban Coast Institute

Position Summary:
Monmouth University is seeking applications for two part-time temporary Field Operations Assistants in the Urban Coast Institute.

The candidate would be expected to: assist with maintenance, repair and operation of field sampling equipment; work as crew on University vessels; update databases for water quality and field sampling projects; assist on field sampling and survey projects; and other duties as assigned.

Required Degree, License or Certifications:
Valid Automobile Driver's License in your state of principal residence

Required Skills or Software:
Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills

Required Years of Experience:

Other Requirements:
Ability to climb ladders to 5 ft. Ability to lift and carry objects up to 40 lbs.

Comfortable working on water. Basic mechanical abilities. Basic boating skills. Ability to work outside in all types of weather.

Computer experience using Excel and Access.

Reliable and able to work with others as part of a team.


Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in a science field. Networking knowledge.
