Department Summary
The Oregon Institute of Marine Biology (OIMB) is the University of Oregon's outpost at the edge of the Pacific Ocean. OIMB supports teaching, graduate training, and research in marine biology. The OIMB currently includes 6 professors and their research groups, and 9 graduate students.

Position Summary
The Oregon Institute of Marine Biology seeks qualified applicants for its research open recruitment pool. Positions are limited duration appointments that are part-time and/or short-term, with contracts not to exceed one year. Possibility of renewal up to a total of three years, depending on programmatic need, funding, and performance.

Research Assistant positions will conduct research under the direction of the Principal Investigator(PI). In addition, to further research learning, the research assistant will receive an annual performance evaluation.

Research Associate positions will conduct research with only general guidance from the PI. In addition, to further research learning, the Research Associate will receive an annual performance evaluation.

Postdoctoral Scholars will conduct research under the direction of a faculty member to acquire research training. In addition, to further career development, the postdoctoral scholar and PI will create and follow mentoring and individual development plans.

Salary is dependent upon education, experience, and available funding.

Minimum Requirements
Research Assistant - Bachelor's degree in marine science or related field.

Research Associate - A terminal degree by the start of the position with relevant professional experience in a research lab.

Postdoctoral Research Scholar - A PhD by the start of the position with relevant professional experience in a research lab.
