Key Position Information:


Position Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the Director of Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI), the EDI Coordinator will assist in carrying out the mission of the office. He/she/they will establish and coordinate interactive trainings, organize events, and special projects related to EDI topics. He/she/they will engage with various departments, units, and colleges within SPC. A high level of professionalism and confidentiality is crucial in this position.


Requirements::
Education:

Bachelor's degree.

Experience:

Two (2) years experience in programming and/or training with an emphasis in Equity, Diversity & Inclusion.

Experience in higher education; preferred

Bilingual is a plus; Spanish fluency

• Demonstrated ability to establish, cultivate and maintain a cooperative working relationship with co-workers, students, faculty, staff, and administrators.
• Demonstrated ability to support the college’s goals in the area of diversity and inclusion.
• Demonstrated ability to independently handle multiple work unit priorities and projects
• Ability to interpret and implement policies, procedures and applications related to supporting an executive.
• Demonstrated ability to use forethought, discretion and independent judgment in problem resolution.

  • Working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws, rules, and regulations of Title IX;

  • Training programs and principles;
  • Computers and related software applications.

Physical:

• Positions in this class typically require: reaching, standing, walking, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.

• Sedentary Work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.

• Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.


Responsibilities:
These duties are a representative sample; position assignments may vary.

Potential Frequency
1.
Coordinates the activities of promoting and distributing functions of EDI, which includes planning, administering, and evaluating departments, projects, processes, and/or procedures; monitors compliance with Federal, State, and local laws, regulations, codes, and/or standards of Title IX.
Daily - 30%

2.
Coordinates and participates in the collection, analysis, preparation, and reporting of relevant information and data related to assigned area of responsibility.
Daily - 20%

3.
Assist, develops, and facilitates affinity groups and training sessions on applicable topics in assigned area of responsibility.
Daily - 20%

4.
Provides information and advice related to specific EDI related processes and procedures to employees and/or College staff; recommends and advises staff on effective strategies to meet EDI staffing and organizational goals.
Daily - 20%

5.
May prioritize and assign work to lower level staff; monitor the performance of lower level staff; train staff on work methods and procedures; and participate on staff evaluations.
Daily - 10%

6.
Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
