The Assistant Director is responsible for execution of all stewardship and development event planning for UTC Athletics. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the timely stewardship and benefit fulfillment of all donors to UTC Athletics and the planning of development events. This position will report to the Associate AD, Development.

Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure proper stewardship of all donors to UTC Athletics through the execution of a comprehensive communication plan and efficient delivery of donor benefits
  • Plan and execute UTC Athletics donor events to engage, cultivate and steward Mocs Club members and major gift donors and prospects
  • Assist in the timely processing of all gifts to UTC athletics, and the data analysis to ensure continued progress to goal and effective decision-making for donor retention and acquisition strategies.
  • Manage game-day hospitality areas for all home football and men’s basketball games, along with select women’s basketball games
  • Additional responsibilities to include, but not limited to, serving on campus development committees, oversight of student workers/interns and participating in university, UC Foundation and Athletic department events.


This is a full-time position with evenings and weekend hours required. Compensation competitive and commensurate with education and experience.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • Minimum one year of experience in event planning, preferably within intercollegiate athletics or higher education development
  • Must demonstrate ability to work on projects independently as well as within a team and prioritize projects
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and high level of attention to detail
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with NCAA rules and regulations, particularly those impacting representatives of institutions athletic interests
  • Fundraising database experience, Paciolan preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
