Position Summary Information

The Associate Director’s principal responsibility is to support the clinical education phase of the PAS program by recruiting and maintaining clinical sites. In performing this function, the Associate Director works closely and collaboratively with the Director of Clinical Education and Administrative Support Specialist for Clinical Education. The ADCE will communicate regularly with clinical faculty and preceptors to assist in ensuring the clinical program meets current practice standards and scope and is in compliance with ARC -PA requirements. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Recruit clinical sites and manage relationships with site staff and clinical preceptors.
2. Supervise, manage, and train the Administrative Support Specialist and student workers.
3. Assist in the process of site contract preparation and other related paperwork.
4. Participate in clinical site visits to support continued recruitment and preceptor engagement.
5. Develop preceptor resources and manage preceptor professional development activities.
6. Serve as a contact/liaison for existing and potential new clinical sites.
7. Maintain internal and external clinical site databases.
8. Collaborate with the PAS clinical faculty and staff to ensure that preceptors receive required training and access to support their preceptorship activities.
9. Assist in the preceptor evaluation process and communicate results to site staff.
10. Assist in the planning, coordination, and assessment of PAS events including White Coat Ceremony, didactic and clinical orientation days, interview days, prospective student events, and more.
11. Other duties assigned as needed and directed by the Dean, College of Health Science or Chair, Department of Physician Assistant Studies. Supervisory Responsibilities
This position will supervise the existing position of Administrative Support Specialist for Clinical Education in addition to student workers and other department personnel as assigned. Other Knowledge Skills and Abilities

§ Ability to gather data, compile information, and prepare reports.
§ Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse faculty, staff and student body.
§ Ability to supervise and train staff, including organizing, prioritizing, and scheduling work assignments.
§ Strong organizational skills and detailed oriented.
§ Ability to maintain confidentiality.
§ Excellent telephone courtesy knowledge and experience.
§ Ability to coordinate and organize meetings and/or special events.
§ Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines and procedures.
§ Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
§ Ability to develop and maintain recordkeeping systems and procedures.
§ Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns.
§ Ability to investigate and analyze information and to draw conclusions.
§ Valid California driver’s license and ability to regularly travel across the region and occasionally travel outside California. Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree with education or experience in professional communications, marketing, or sales; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
