Position Summary

The Department of Economics at the University at Buffalo, The State University of New York, seeks to hire one or two assistant professors preferably with research and teaching interests in one or more of the following fields:
  • Environmental economics,
  • Health economics,
  • Public economics,
  • Transportation economics,
  • Urban and regional economics.
Candidates are expected to teach at the undergraduate, masters and PhD levels, and be active researchers with the potential to excel in publication and build a strong scholarly reputation in economics. Responsibilities of an Assistant Professor (tenure-track, academic-year commitment) include:
  • developing an independent research program
  • teaching 2 courses per semester (4 per year); mentoring graduate students
  • participating in service at the department, university, and discipline levels
