Position Data Manager/Analyst Full Time/Part Time Full Time Job Type Regular Position Summary
This position will work with the NMFWRI staff to develop and implement a data management plan and program for the organization. The position will also work closely with the Monitoring Program Manager to develop a support the development and management of a monitoring database, user interfaces to allow data import/upload and export/download by NMFWRI and partners, as well as a suite of analytical tools. The position will manage contractors as necessary to complete specific tasks. Additionally, this position will need to provide training to NMFWRI staff on the data management plan and database work, and generally support knowledge sharing and collaboration between staff, project partners, and interested parties. This position may be remote. This is a new position. Duties and Responsibilities
·Develop and manage a data management plan for NFMWRI (overarching) addressing backing up data, security, best practices, policies for access and sharing, etc.
·Provide training to NMFWRI staff on the data management plan
·Develop and maintain a database for NMFWRI’s monitoring data and to establish NMFWRI’s organizational capacity as a monitoring data repository for New Mexico
·Develop workflows for data integration from existing sources (including partner data) into the monitoring database
·Develop tools/user interfaces to allow for user entry/ import/generation; tools must be web-enabled and accessible
·Development and maintenance of analytical tools for use with the monitoring database
·Create an interface for field data collection (e.g. tablets)
·Provide training to staff and other users on the use of the database and analytical tools.
·Developing and managing contracts as appropriate.
·Collaborate and coordinate with other NMFWRI staff, especially the monitoring and GIS departments
·Support NMFWRI’s mission and goals through organizational coherence, responsiveness to partner needs, and promotion of professional development among staff.
·Maintain regular attendance and clear communication.
·Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Job Requirements
· EDUCATION and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or related field with 2 years of directly related experience, or an Associate’s Degree with 4 years directly related experience. Preferred Qualifications
· Experience with ArcGIS server and R programming,
natural resource monitoring data Special Conditions for Eligibility
· Must have and maintain a valid New Mexico Driver’s License.
· Must be willing to work weekends and evenings as required. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
· Experience in Oracle and or SQL database knowledge
· Experience Structured Query Language ( SQL ), programming
· Microsoft and/or Linux Operating system knowledge
· Experience Server based database management and administration
· Familiarity with cloud server-based database and contracting
· Ability to manage multiple projects
· Ability to work as a member of a team with diverse skills and backgrounds and undertake tasks with minimal supervision.
