Department Summary

In support of the CSUSB Strategic Plan, the College of Extended and Global Education (CEGE) leads the campus' internationalization and global engagement by collaborating with international partners to develop and promote activities, programs, and services that meet the needs of the university, regional, national, and global communities.

Job Summary

Working independently under general direction related to goals, the incumbent is responsible for coordinating administrative support for the Center of International Studies and Programs (CISP). It is responsible for the full scope of project activities including initiation, execution, coordination, implementation, and evaluation. Administrative work involves evaluation, research, coordination, and recommendations related to operational and procedural matters and ingenuity in developing solutions. The incumbent works with complex programs, projects, and events that have a campus-wide impact and that require the ability to work independently. The incumbent handles multiple projects and priorities; independently makes decisions on day-to-day operations, and applies and interprets policies and procedures.

Employment Status: This position is full-time, non-exempt, temporary.

Review Date: The review date for applications will begin on October 14, 2021.

Work Schedule
  • Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

Key Qualifications
  • Thorough knowledge of office method procedures and practice
  • Thorough mastery of English grammar, punctuation, and spelling
  • Ability to prepare and present reports
  • Expertise in using office software, technology, and system including but are not limited to Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PeopleSoft, and other standard office equipment
  • Comprehensive knowledge of applicable university infrastructure, policies, and procedures
  • Ability to interpret independently, and apply a variety of complex policies and procedures and ability to identify deviations from applicable policies
  • Ability to apply independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to address problems and develop practical, thorough, and, at times, creative solutions
  • Ability to identify and troubleshoot office administration problems, recognize and advocate for solutions that yield programmatic progress and improvement
  • Ability to understand problems from a broader perspective and anticipate the impact of office administration problems and solutions on other areas
  • Ability to perform business math, analyze budgetary data, and make accurate projections requiring some inference
  • Ability to work professionally, collaboratively, and collegially with a diverse group of people, clients, and co-workers
  • Ability to use persuasion and negotiation to expedite projects and achieve results
  • Active problem-solving skills and interpersonal skills

Education and Experience
  • High School diploma or its equivalent AND five years of progressively responsible experience in general office clerical or secretarial work or the equivalent.

Salary:

Anticipated Hiring Range: $3,352-$4,200/month

Classification Salary Range: $3,352-$5,639/month
