Assistant Professor of Education/Literacy

Buena Vista University seeks a candidate to fill a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Education Literacy position in the School of Education. A Ph.D. or Ed.D. in literacy education or a related field is preferred, but ABD candidates will be considered. We are seeking a highly qualified K-12 literacy professional with experiences in K-12 settings. Preference will be given to candidates with elementary and secondary literacy and university teaching experience.

The successful candidate will be one who can teach a variety of introductory and advanced undergraduate and graduate courses in literacy education and be adept at relating course content to the professional practice and licensure requirements. Candidates with teaching or professional experience in the areas of literacy or elementary are particularly encouraged to apply. The position requires strong teaching skills, advising and mentoring of undergraduate students, and service to the institution.
