Salary: $15.00 per hour

We are seeking to fill a part time position in our FAA Approved Airframe & Powerplant Certificate Program . This program is housed exclusively at the state of the art, MVCC Aviation Training Center located on the airfield at Griffiss International Airport. The Technical Assistant position requires interaction with students in the laboratory training environment and a thorough knowledge of aircraft maintenance practices, techniques, and FAA requirements.

Key responsibilities for this position include:

• Assist all teaching staff and Adjuncts with required lab projects while working with students;
• Perform all regular housekeeping duties in the ATC;
• Maintain ATC training equipment in working order as needed;
• Insure all safety items in hangar are in working order;
• Assist director and college with program marketing/recruiting efforts;
• Answer incoming phone calls and direct to appropriate staff member or take messages;
• Explain the A&P certificate program and answer general aviation maintenance questions for inquiring callers;
• Accurately maintain required student academic files to meet FAA regulations as needed;
• Perform other duties as needed per the Director or Faculty needs.

Qualifications:


Required Qualifications:

• FAA certification (Airframe & Powerplant, or at least one rating)
• One (1) year minimum of aircraft maintenance experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Associate's degree
• Three (3) years' experience in aircraft maintenance
