Job Description

PURPOSE AND SCOPE:

The Coordinator I, Business Operations at LSC-CyFair Main Campus and Centers facilitates daily operations within LSC-CyFair Student Accounts & Payment Counters, providing leadership and supervision for the Payment Counter team in serving customers, addressing escalations, and daily closing. Responsible for collaborating with others, ensuring smooth and efficient operations as well as compliance with policies, procedures and a variety of local, state and federal regulations. Makes and communicates process decisions based on best practices.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  1. Facilitate daily operations of LSC-CyFair Payment Counters. Maintain records. Maintains current knowledge base ofStudent Accounts and Payment Counter policies and procedures. Acts as a point of contact for internal and external customers
  2. Coordinates all activities of the Payment Counter in collaboration with the Manager, which may include some or all of the following: review and process cash receipts for all incoming payments; report, review, research and reconcile functions for daily student receivable deposits, operating funds, cash boxes, petty cash, and student accounts; handle deposit memos, NSF checks, vending issues, change and petty cash requests, returned checks; perform dual control functions and open/close the Payment Counter daily
  3. Work directly with students, faculty and staff to resolve any issues
  4. Communicates sensitive Student Account information with students in a professional and effective manner, including written and verbal communication; Supervises staff in doing the same
  5. Enters, tracks and maintains a variety of data, including documents, spreadsheets and databases
  6. Assists with training and monitoring of staff; Schedules and prioritizes work activities in collaboration with Manager
  7. May monitor and maintain website for department and external use; May be responsible for developing and maintaining virtual Payment Counter tools in collaboration with department
  8. May be responsible for ensure and maintain compliance with local/state/federal compliance of processes and documentation within assigned area
  9. Assists with entering and tracking the departmen tbudget
  10. Takes part in special projects as needed
  11. Responsible for other reasonable related duties as assigned

  • Excellentknowledgeofgeneralofficeandsoftwareapplications such as Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc., report generators and other similar software applications
  • Ability to prepare and analyze reports

PHYSICAL ABILITIES:

The work is sedentary. Typically, the employee sits comfortably to do the work. However, there may be some walking; standing; bending; carrying of light items, such as papers, books, or small parts; or driving an automobile. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

WORK SCHEDULE & CONDITIONS:

  • Equipment used includes, PC workstation running on a LAN in a Microsoft Windows environment, calculator, phone and other general office equipment.
  • Interface with internal and external contacts as needed to carry out the functions of the position.
  • Work is performed in a climate-controlled office with minimal exposure to safety hazards.
  • Expected hours are 10am-7pm, Monday-Thursday, and 8am-5pm Friday; some Saturdays are required as scheduled. Flexibility to adjust schedule with Student Service requirements and staffing needs.
  • Travel between LSC-CyFair Main Campus and Centers is expected.


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associates Degree and at least 1 year of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education or experience


PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with PeopleSoft and the Campus Solutions module
  • Experience with Student Accounts
  • Experience with Customer Service
  • Experience with Cashiering, Cash Handling


Salary

Hiring salary range is $37,270 - $42,861

Lone Star College provides a hiring salary range for all posted full-time non-faculty positions. Where your salary offer would fall in that range is determined by your related experience and education.
