Lecturer of English

Department of English

Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for nine-month, non-tenure track Lecturer faculty positions in the Department of English to begin January 2022 and August 2022.

Kennesaw State University invites applications for multiple lecturer positions in English to teach General Education (primarily first-year composition). The current teaching load is 5/4 with university service obligation. Faculty in the Department teach in a variety of modalities, including face-to-face, hybrid, and online.

A graduate degree in English, or its foreign equivalent or a closely related field is required as well as a record of effective university teaching.

Kennesaw State University's Department of English seeks candidates with demonstrated skill in teaching college composition. Candidates with experience teaching at KSU are encouraged to apply.

KSU’s student population is as diverse as the population of the Atlanta metro area and includes a high proportion of traditionally underrepresented groups and first-generation college students.

We prefer candidates who share the Department of English’s explicit commitment to teaching diverse communities and our belief that our diversity is our strength. Individuals from historically underrepresented groups are particularly encouraged to apply.

Additional preferred qualifications include graduate training in rhetoric and composition, experience teaching in hybrid or online formats, training in online and hybrid pedagogies, teaching multimodal writing, and teaching via a Writing across the Curriculum (WAC) model.

For more than 50 years, Kennesaw State University has been known for its entrepreneurial spirit and sense of community. Offering campuses in Marietta and Kennesaw, the university is located just north of Atlanta and combines a suburban setting with access to one of the country’s most dynamic cities. As Georgia’s third-largest university, Kennesaw State offers more than 100 undergraduate and graduate degrees, including a growing number of doctoral programs.

Designated by the Board of Regents of the University System of Georgia as a comprehensive university, Kennesaw State is committed to becoming a world-class academic institution positioned to broaden its academic and research missions and expand its scope on a local, regional and national level.
