Job Summary

The Department of Computer Science at the University of Colorado Boulder is currently seeking applications for a Tenure-Track Faculty position in cybersecurity, broadly defined. Candidates in all topics within the broad area of cybersecurity are encouraged to apply. Who We Are

The Department of Computer Science is one of the largest departments at the University of Colorado Boulder. The Department currently has 1897 undergraduate students, 513 graduate students, and 80 faculty. As members of one of the premier research universities in the country, Computer Science faculty, staff, and students are engaged in cutting-edge research projects that address some of the most important challenges facing society today.

The Department's research and education efforts interact broadly with many interdisciplinary programs and collaborators in the Boulder area, including national labs at NIST, NOAA, NREL, and NCAR, and CU Boulder research centers and institutes, including the Center for National Security Initiatives, the ATLAS Institute, the BioFrontiers Institute, and the Institute for Cognitive Science. More than 20 faculty members have joint affiliations with one of these labs. The Department also has a long-standing partnership with National Center for Women and IT and has faculty active in increasing the broadening of participation in computer science via their research, teaching, and service. In addition, the Department has extensive ties with the thriving local tech community and inhabits a picturesque location in the foothills of the Rocky Mountains.

What Your Key Responsibilities Will Be

A successful candidate will develop vigorous, externally funded research programs in their technical areas, engage in undergraduate and graduate teaching, and contribute professional service.

The position will be rostered in the Computer Science department and is responsible for teaching classes focused on cybersecurity and secure communications in the Technology, Cybersecurity, and Policy (TCP) program and computer security courses in the Computer Science department. The TCP program is a highly integrated and comprehensive graduate program in the Computer Science department, combining technology, cybersecurity, and policy with hands-on experience.

We are especially interested in qualified candidates who can contribute, through their research, teaching, and service, to the diversity and excellence of our academic community.

What You Should Know

We anticipate hiring at the rank of Assistant Professor in Computer Science, but experienced candidates may be considered for Associate Professor.

What We Can Offer

The salary range for this position is $95,000 - $160,000 annually commensurate with rank. Relocation expenses will be provided.

Candidates must have an earned Ph.D. or equivalent degree, or expect to have completed their Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related field at the time of starting a tenure-track faculty appointment.
