Job Summary

Interior Design and Floral Design to provide instruction in the basic aspects of healthy plant growth, including the functions of the root system and the leaf. Photosynthesis, respiration, and transpiration and the factors that affect these processes. Provide instruction in Plant Nomenclature (common names and scientific names) and diagnosing unhealthy plants and determine the necessary steps needed to take to bring it back to health. Teach FLR 200 - Plants for Interior Design.

Additional duties include:
Classroom and lab management.
Attends program meetings and activities as needed.
Meets with students if necessary.
Other assigned duties according to the adjunct contract.

Required Qualifications

Degree in horticulture or 5 or more years in horticulture industry experience
5 or more years in experience in a flower shop or a greenhouse-nursery
Experience facilitating horticultural trainings or teaching to groups of 8 or more

Preferred Qualifications

Floral design Certificate
Teaching experience at a community college, college or university
