Job Summary

Our Adult Basic Education/GED Instructors will provide learner-centered instruction for basic literacy and math through high school equivalency/college readiness skills in reading, writing, math computation, applied math, science and social studies in preparation for taking the GED® exam. Instructors will create individual education plans for each learner and monitor progress toward passing the GED® exam. Instructors will instruct students one-on-one and in small groups, guide and supervise ongoing study, engage community volunteers to assist with one-on-one instruction with learners, create reports, maintain records and participate in professional development events.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree
Strong math and English skills
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills
Strong attention to detail
Ability to keep accurate records
Ability to improve learner academic skills

Preferred Qualifications

Elementary or secondary education degree
K-12 teaching experience
Ability to instruct and coach adult basic education learners
Ability to meet the unique needs of adult basic education students
Ability to create individual education plans designed to prepare adult learners to pass the GED® exam
Experience teaching high school equivalency skills to adult learners
Experience preparing learners for the GED® exam
