Coordinator of Admissions & Recruitment (Temporary Full Time)

Montgomery County Community College invites applications for the Coordinator of Admissions & Recruitment position.  Under the direction of the Associate Director of Admissions & Recruitment, the Coordinator of Admissions and Recruitment will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and directing strategies and activities that optimize enrollments by attracting new students to the College. This is accomplished by providing essential information about the College as it relates to admissions and enrollment; making vital information available to the community through visits and presentations; working collaboratively with college faculty, staff, and current students to attract new students; fostering awareness, promotion, and support of the College’s mission and academic program offerings.

 

This position requires the candidate to obtain the PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI Fingerprinting clearances prior to their start date.

This position may require some evening and weekend hours during peak periods or special projects and has college-wide responsibilities that may require travel between all campuses and off-site locations.

The selected candidate will work on campus a minimum of two (2) days per week. 

A Full Time Temporary employee regularly works a thirty-seven and one-half (37 ½) or forty (40) hour work week, may serve a maximum of 12 months. Temporary full-time employees are separated after their term of service, or at the end of 12 months, whichever comes first.

 

ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

 

Education/Training/Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience and proven success in a consultative sales position in a higher education setting.
  • Ability to travel, work nights and weekends as needed.
  • Demonstrated commitment to diversity.
  • Evidence of strong presentation, written, verbal skills and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Understanding of the Community College mission/philosophy, practice and population.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with administrative computer hardware and software.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills.
  • Demonstrated critical thinking and ability to creatively problem solve.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

 

Specialized Knowledge & Skills

  • Demonstrated success in making higher educational opportunities accessible to underrepresented and non-traditional students.
  • Demonstrated success in relationship building and community outreach.
  • Demonstrated success in event management, planning and execution.
  • Demonstrated experience working with Constituent Relationship Management (CRM) tools to support student success and retention.
