Job Description Summary
The Higher Education Administration program offers M.Ed. and Ph.D. degrees designed to prepare researchers, practitioners, and leaders of colleges and universities. Faculty members in the Higher Education Administration program will be expected to provide rigorous and relevant course offerings and engage in research initiatives related to persistent or emerging higher education issues.
Minimum Qualifications
a) An earned Doctorate in Higher Education or its equivalent by time of hire;
b) Record of an emerging or established research program focused on the study of higher education;
c) Demonstrated ability or potential for excellence in graduate instruction;
d) Excellent communication skills are required; and
e) The candidates for these positions must be able to meet eligibility requirements to work in the United States at the time of appointment is scheduled to begin and continue working legally for the proposed term of employment.
Desired Qualifications
a) Record of or potential for teaching online, hybrid, or face-to-face courses;
b) Record of or potential for publication in refereed scholarly journals;
c) Record of or potential for the pursuit of external research funding;
d) Record of or potential for advising, engaging, and mentoring graduate students;
e) Record of or potential for connecting research, teaching, and service activities to practical implications for college and university contexts;
f) Strong knowledge of research methods using qualitative, quantitative, or mixed method approaches; and
Demonstrated ability to engage in Higher Education Program design activities (e.g., curriculum redesign, course design, administrative tasks).
