Elon University Music Department, Assistant Professor, Piano. Elon University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in piano beginning mid-August, 2022. Completed Ph.D. or DMA in Piano Performance or Piano Pedagogy required.

 

The successful candidate will demonstrate performance expertise as a solo pianist, a significant collegiate teaching agenda as a specialist in piano performance and pedagogy, with evidence of successful teaching of piano to college students from a variety of musical backgrounds and abilities. The successful candidate will also have demonstrated piano pedagogy teaching skills, administrative skills, and will communicate the value of piano performance to students considering a range of career paths. Knowledge and experience with Music Technology, Music Theory, or Interdisciplinary Research, a plus. 

 

Teaching responsibilities will include piano, piano pedagogy, courses in Elon’s Core Curriculum program, and may include courses in music technology, music theory, and/or interdisciplinary research depending upon the candidate’s expertise. Candidates who have experience working with a diverse range of people, and who can contribute to the climate of inclusivity are encouraged to identify their experiences in their cover letter.
