The department of Natural and Applied Sciences at the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay invites applicants for a Lecturer position in Physics. 

This position includes the following responsibilities:

  • Teach primarily introductory level courses in Physics. Other assignments may include astronomy courses, an upper-level modern Physics course, a First Year Seminar course, or courses in support of the department of Natural and Applied Sciences.
  • Advise students. 
  • Facilitate optimal learning through integration of technology and utilization of appropriate delivery methods. Courses may be taught face-to-face or in distance education modalities.
  • Implement inclusive instructional strategies to increase support for students from underrepresented and first-generation backgrounds at UW-Green Bay.
  • Perform scholarly activities consistent with rank.
  • Perform institutional and community service.
  • Contribute to the ongoing programmatic development within the department of Natural and Applied Sciences.
Qualifications MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Earned doctorate in Physics from an accredited institution by start date of 1/6/2022
  • Evidence of excellence in student-centered teaching

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Demonstrated experience using active learning techniques
  • Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate education
  • Familiarity with technology and distance education
  • Experience working with diverse populations

Conditions Of Appointment

Position is a full-time, 9-month, instructional Academic Staff appointment.  Official transcripts of the highest degree achieved will be required of finalist(s). A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). In compliance with the Wisconsin Fair Employment Act, the University does not discriminate on the basis of arrest or conviction record.

Salary

Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).
