Job Description:

Plans, develops policies, directs, implements and controls programs for custodial services for over 7 million square feet of E & G building space on the Main campus. Also provides services as requested on a reimbursement basis to other departments.

Manages planning, scheduling and work inspections of facilities, furnishings and equipment. Initiates corrective actions as appropriate. Working with supervisory staff, assigns personnel and allocates areas of responsibility and supervision for over 200 employees.

Maintains continuing liaison with other campus representatives in order to effectively and properly coordinate Custodial Services support, as well as determine the level of satisfaction with custodial effort and effectiveness. Serves as primary contact for Main Campus related to cleaning services. Serves as primary contact for emergency response and maintains adequate and appropriate list of emergency response employee volunteers. Drives vehicle to customer/trouble locations.

Assures customer requests for Custodial Services over and above services routinely provide as in accordance with approved standards and budgetary limits.

Proved budget commendations. Manages funding within allocations. Prepares and documents realistic job and project cost estimates. Ensures labor hours and materiel costs are accurately recorded.

Supervises and provides technical guidance for Custodial maintenance programs.

Responsible for maintaining data regarding Custodial operations including task frequencies, FTE levels, cleaning standards, supervisors’ area inspection reports.

Authority as delegated to participate in hiring, disciplinary and discharge actions. Maintains appropriate documentation.
Develops and manages training program to ensure personnel remains current in all aspects of Custodial maintenance and operations, etc.

Approves and Monitors Timecards in Kronos.

Manages and processes and assigns Workorders in AiM.

Performs other duties assigned.

NORMAL WORK SCHEDULE: 8:00AM to 5:00PM (Monday through Friday). Workdays and shift times may vary in response to customer needs for special event coverage and/or departmental needs. Occasionally holiday and weekend work required. Total hours per week is 40.
Management retains the right and discretion to modify schedules, building assignments, shifts and/or days for operational purposes.

Position is considered as Essential Personnel as defined by UF Policy.

A Criminal background check will be conducted.

Expected Salary:

$55,000 - $60,000 Yearly based on experience

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's degree in an appropriate area; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

EDUCATION & TRAINING
Associate or Bachelors’ Degree.
Experience with Microsoft Word,, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, PeopleSoft.
Experience managing and motivating a diverse workforce.
Experience working collaboratively and cooperatively in a team environment.
Professional custodial certification from the Cleaning & Maintenance Institute (CMI), the International Executive Housekeepers Association (IEHA), the Florida School Plant Management Association (FSPMA), the International Sanitary Supply Association (ISSA), or the Association of Physical Plant Administrators (APPA).
Knowledge of commercial cleaning procedures and techniques.
Ability to supervise a diverse workforce.
Knowledge of procedures and methods used in Custodial operations.
Skill and previous administrative experience in management of a large-scale housekeeping operations.
Ability to organize, prioritize and perform under pressure in both a public and internal administrative capacity.
Ability to supervise others through current methods and means; maintain Division productivity and moral
Ability to work in a changing environment which may require re-prioritization of daily operations.
Ability to supervise people, maintains accurate records, determine work priorities, assign work and ensure proper completion.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationship with others. Maintain Division productivity and moral
Ability to interact with customers in a tactful and courteous manner.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to organize, prioritize and perform under pressure in both a public and internal administrative capacity.

Knowledge of professional and commercial cleaning procedures, techniques and equipment.
Knowledge of procedures and methods used in commercial custodial operations.
Knowledge and ability to properly screen, interview and recommend hires for required duties.
Ability to wear appropriate Personal Protection Equipment (PPE).
Ability to perform various tasks with minimal instruction and/or supervision.
