Job Description:

The Human Resources Assistant reports to the Vice President of Human Resources and has the responsibility of supporting and assisting in a wide variety of human resources functions, including office management, recruitment, employee relations, training, student employment, and record keeping. Specializes in maintaining integrity and utility of HR information system.

Essential Functions:

1. Administrative Functions:

  • Coordinates meetings using Outlook;
  • Front Desk reception responsibilities including greeting visitors, answering a multi-line telephone and triaging calls as needed.

2. Office Management:

  • Maintains inventories of office supplies and processes office supplies requests;
  • Keeps office machines running, including stocking of printer;
  • Maintains storage in a timely and accessible manner;
  • Ensure accurate filing of documents in employee files.

3. Database management

Assists the Human Resources Generalist in:

  • Entering  all new employee information in Banner;
  • Updating system to reflect any changes in positions, levels, benefits;
  • Entering employment notices and changes into Banner database.

4. Budget

  • Processes all check requisitions and purchase orders;
  • Assists with budget preparation;
  • Monitors budget for accuracy.

5. Work-Study and Student Employment

  • Assists the Human Resources Generalist to enter student employment information into Banner;
  • Serves as point of contact of HR office and answers questions on phone and in person on Curry HR policies and procedures.

Additional Functions:

  • Assists with event Planning;
  • Respect and maintain confidentiality, parameters of operation, professional protocols, and individual privacy;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Vice President of Human Resources. 

 

Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or Associate's degree.
  • One to three years of front-end office experience including basic office functions such as filing and telephone skills.
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite knowledge, in particular Excel, Word and Microsoft Visio.
  • Excellent data entry skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Information System.
  • Experience with Data Analysis and Reporting.
  • Familiarity with Ellucian Banner.
