Summary
Responsible for working to ensure the safe operation of the conference center consistent with the mission and established policies and procedures of Tahquitz Pines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
1. Responsible for assisting in the preparing of meals for guest/rental groups.
2. Clean and sanitize work areas, equipment, utensils, dishes, and silverware.
3. Responsible for assisting in the serving of meals for guest/rental groups.
4. Be involved in the cleaning of the food service area, including the kitchen, serving area, and dining hall after each meal.
5. Prepare a variety of foods according to supervisors’ instructions, following approved procedures.
6. Store food in designated containers and storage areas to prevent spoilage.
7. Receive and store food supplies, equipment, and utensils in refrigerators, cupboards, and other storage areas.
8. Riverside County Food Handler certificate is required within two weeks of employment.
9. Assist with the cleaning of facilities.
10. Assist facilities team with routine maintenance, grounds keeping, and janitorial duties.
11. Operate vehicles, tractors, equipment, and tools in a safe manner as required.
12. Assist in snow removal and parking.
13. Assist with customer service and all other tasks as assigned.
14. Willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no supervisory responsibilities. Other Knowledge Skills and Abilities
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
§ Ability to work on short term notice and in emergency situations.
§ Ability to lift/unload food and supplies from vehicles to store in kitchen.
§ Ability to operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely.
§ Ability to work with, and alongside, volunteer workers.
§ Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time.
§ Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds.
§ Knowledge of food service management and safety.
§ Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with adults, youth, and the general public.
§ Ability to interpret written menus and meal plans.
§ Have a Christian faith commitment, and an interest in working in a Christian camp setting.
§ Ability to plan, develop, and coordinate multiple projects.
§ Ability to read and write at a level appropriate to the duties of the position
§ Ability to detect and report mechanical and other problems in vehicles and equipment.
§ Ability to accomplish assigned tasks in an organized, professional manner without direct supervision.
§ Strong organizational skills and detail oriented.
§ Ability to resolve customer complaints and concerns. Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or general education degree ( GED ); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Riverside County Food Handler certification is required within two weeks of employment.
