PRIMARY DUTY: A nine-month non-tenure teaching position with a shared appointment in the School of Agricultural Sciences and the Melvin D. and Valorie G. Booth School of Business responsible for providing instruction in Agricultural Finance, Agricultural Law, and introductory classes in Business Finance. Ideal qualities: demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching, student support, university service, and scholarly activity; ability to integrate technology and experiential learning into course materials; versatile and willing to serve as an integral part of a diversified and active team of faculty.

 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  1. Teach 12 credit hours per fall and spring trimesters to include Agricultural Finance, Agricultural Law, and Business Finance
  2. Operate computer technologies relevant to the discipline
  3. Supervise and advise students and student organizations
  4. Be responsible for University service including committee work and participation in school activities
  5. Commit to the development and execution of experiential learning opportunities
  6. Perform other duties as assigned

 

REQUIREMENTS:

Education: MBA or MS in Agricultural Economics or Finance or a degree in a closely related field; Depending on education, additional certification of professional development may be needed

Experience: Knowledge of United States agricultural production systems; teaching experience at the post-secondary level and/or relevant industry experience

Skills: Excellent written and oral communication skills             

 

WORKING CONDITIONS: This position works in modern academic environment with individual faculty offices      

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Undergraduate and Graduate student assistants
