Summary of Job Duties:The Event Services Admin is responsible for all meetings and special events held within the Arkansas Union and provides administrative support to the Associate Director.
This position oversees the reservation request process and directly communicates with and advises customers regarding the coordination of all logistical and facility needs.
This position is responsible for ensuring all event-related information is obtained, all policies and procedures are followed, and all information regarding setup, audio/visual, and staffing needs are communicated to event support staff.
The Event Services Admin assists the Associate Director with administrative duties such as recommending staff for hire, obtaining billing information, creating invoices, reconciliation of payments, and making suggestions for revisions to event policies, pricing, and procedures.

Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree with a major in sociology, public administration, management, or a related field from an accredited institution of higher education

  • At least two years of experience in program administration or a related area



Applicable equivalencies may be considered.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • At least two years of experience coordinating special events and/or experience in program planning and administration in higher education

  • Experience working with event and reservation scheduling software such as EMS Enterprise

  • Experience with University of Arkansas systems (such as Workday) or related HR software



Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of facility, furniture, and equipment requirements for special events

  • Knowledge of state, federal, and campus policies, procedures, and resources

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Excellent customer service skills

  • Ability to work occasional nights and weekends as need



Salary Information:

$31,950
