We are seeking a Postdoctoral Associate for a collaborative project in the Center for Translational Research in Neurodegenerative Disease (CTRND) at the University of Florida College of Medicine. The project is supported by the Douglas Andersen Facial Pain Research Foundation. The position will focus on developing and characterization of rAAV vectors that can be delivered to the trigeminal nerve and blunt/block pain signaling. Optimization of peripheral nerve, trigeminal nerve rAAV delivery coupled with an ability to evaluate a large number of possible biotherapeutics encoded within the rAAV vector will enable the development of a gene therapy that could result in a permanent cure for trigeminal neuralgia.

Successful applicant will have an access to i) a variety of animal models, ii) state-of-the-art imaging; iii) rAAV based toolkit to manipulate gene expression and deliver novel biotherapeutics.

Required: Ph.D. in Neuroscience, Pharmacology or other relevant fields.

Preferred Qualifications: A background in pain research, animal models of pain, surgical procedures in mice and rats and be willing to work in a highly collaborative environment. Salary will be commensurate with experience.

Applications must include a full CV, cover letter and list of references.

Review of applicants will begin November 18, 2019 and will continue until the position is filled.
