The Edward J. Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey, seeks two full-time tenure-track faculty members at the assistant professor level. The faculty members will teach in the Master of City and Regional Planning program and related graduate and undergraduate programs in the Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy. The focus of each position is as follows:

  1. Land use and environmental planning, with a specialty such as racial justice, climate resilience, coastal communities, economic development, or the global south
  2. Environmental and racial justice, with a specialty such as race and planning, international planning especially the global south, planning theory, comparative analysis, or anti-colonial planning.

The ideal candidates will:

  • Have a PhD in Urban Planning, Geography, Law, Public Policy or a related discipline.
  • Be clearly establishing a research profile of refereed research in high-impact journals and through national and international conference presentations.
  • Demonstrate willingness and ability to secure peer-reviewed external grant funds and the ability to be a team leader on funded research supporting and supervising doctoral students and postdoctoral associates.
  • Demonstrate interest, skills and hands-on experience with teaching.
  • Demonstrate ability to network with external stakeholders and to communicate through new media and other sources.

The standard teaching assignment will include a mix of undergraduate and graduate courses. Salaries and benefit packages and other forms of professional support offered by the university are competitive.
