School Partnership Specialist

The High School Partnerships Office at Kean University provides a unique opportunity for students to earn advanced standing credits before high school graduation. Kean’s High School Partnerships Office includes a dual-enrollment program between Kean and Union County Vocational Technical Schools (UCVTS/APA & UC Tech), whose students complete their senior year of high school at Kean by taking college-level courses and receiving college credit. The Office also develops and manages dual-enrollment programs with several other high school partners.

Under the supervision of the Director, the School Partnership Specialist (Professional Services Specialist IV) performs basic professional functions using established policies, procedures, precedents and guidelines; provides direct professional support to the supervisor; supports all work operations of the High School Partnerships Office; and does related work as required.

This position is grant funded and contingent upon the continued operation of the partnership program and reimbursement of funds. This position requires travel and a flexible schedule including evening and weekend hours.

Qualifications: Graduation from an accredited college with a Bachelor’s degree and one year of professional experience in providing student supervision of large groups of high school students is required. Candidate must have a high level of computer skills including proficiency of Microsoft Office and Google Suite for word processing, database construction and maintenance, and creating various spreadsheets and must also have the ability to attentively provide student support services in regards to student academic, behavioral, and situational issues. Excellent oral and written communication skills are essential. The ideal candidate is very familiar with the procedures, policies, and structure of Kean University or another accredited university, and has some knowledge or experience of one of the following academic areas: education, theatre arts, dance, design, earth sciences. Experience working with high school students within a school setting will be a plus.
