Physician- Surgery, Breast Oncology

West Virginia University School of Medicine and the Department of Surgery seeks a General Surgeon with subspecialty training in Breast Disease (ranks available: Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor). The successful candidate will be expected to practice in Morgantown, WV.

Duties: The successful candidate will practice in the areas of general surgery with subspecialty training in breast disease. In addition to providing excellent patient care, the successful candidate will also be actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows.

Qualifications: Candidate must have an MD or DO degree or foreign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license. Successful candidate must have completed a general surgery residency program, as well as a breast surgery fellowship program and/or a surgical oncology fellowship. Successful candidates must be board certified / eligible in general surgery. All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.

Breast cancer patients presenting to the WVU Cancer Institute are evaluated and treated in a multidisciplinary team approach by all subspecialties in our NAPBC- and CoC-accredited center. Our breast care center is an ACR Breast Imaging Center of Excellence with fellowship-trained breast radiologists. Over the last two years, the WVU Cancer Institute has begun an aggressive regionalization of cancer care to include multiple sites across the state.
