The Department of History at Columbia University invites
applications for a tenure-track assistant professor as the Richard
W. Bulliet Chair of Islamic History. We especially seek scholars
focusing on the history of western Asia, during the 10th-15th
centuries CE, working primarily in Persian and/or Arabic. The
candidate will be expected to teach undergraduates and graduate
students while also contributing to the general curriculum of the
department and the Core curriculum of the College. A Ph.D. is
required at the time of appointment. The appointment will begin
July 1, 2022.
