Position Details

Position Title PT - Collegiate High School Instructor: Math FLSA Exempt Contract Length N/A Class Summary
Provide instruction in High School Mathematics: Pre-AP Algebra, Pre-AP Geometry or Pre-Calculus. Help high school student’s transition successfully from their home high school campus to the college campus through classroom instruction. Work with CHS staff to determine high demand employment needs and processes and to design high school curriculum modules in order to guide high school students towards high skill-high demand careers. Bachelor’s Degree in Math Preferred Education/Training/Experience
Bachelor’s Degree and Secondary Teacher Certification AP certification in Algebra, Geometry, Pre-Calculus, Calculus
Masters Preferred: Mathematics Minimum Knowledge & Skills
Guide the learning of students in accordance with the Colleges’ philosophy of education; Align teaching and available resources to curriculum.
Present subject matter according to guidelines established by the Collegiate High School program and administrative guidelines; Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning and use results to plan and implement instruction; Work cooperatively with other CHS teachers and college departments.
Work cooperatively with the campus and district instructional supervisors, leaders, and department heads to improve instruction.
Work with other CHS staff to determine instructional goals, objectives, and methods according to Colleges’ goals; Use available technologies as appropriate teaching and learning tools; Integrate the instruction of technology into subject area teaching; Use effective communication skills to present information accurately and clearly; Maintain a professional and cordial relationship with colleagues, students, parents, and community members; Adhere to local, state, and federal guidelines regarding confidentiality; Establish and maintain open communication by conducting conferences with students, parents, and other staff members; Respond to parent phone calls/messages, emails, in a timely manner; Create a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students; Manage student behavior; Maintains accurate student accounting and grading records in compliance with College policy.

Job Duties
