SEARCH FOR THE VICE PRESIDENT
OF MISSION, DIVERSITY, AND INCLUSION

D'Youville - a growing, diverse, metropolitan campus community committed to instilling character in students so that they become change agents - invites nominations, inquiries, and applications for the new position of Vice President for Mission, Diversity, and Inclusion (VPMDI). A member of the President's Council, the VPMDI reports directly to President Lorrie Clemo and will work with the senior leadership to ensure the university proudly honors its mission and rich heritage of service while openly welcoming and vigorously supporting students of all faiths, cultures, and backgrounds. The next VPMDI is expected to start in January 2022.

Founded in 1908, D'Youville is a highly regarded private, coeducational institution on the vibrant West Side of Buffalo, NY, adjacent to a growing downtown and year-round cultural events and outdoor recreation. Under the leadership of President Clemo, the university is moving boldly forward through a dynamic and integrated planning process to strengthen the institution and positively impact the student experience and surrounding community. In 2021, D'Youville was ranked by US News and World Report among the top 100 performers on social mobility. The institution seeks a Vice President for Mission, Diversity, and Inclusion who understands this changing landscape in higher education, and who can provide compelling leadership to help create and sustain a mission-focused campus environment that is welcoming to all those interested to learn and serve.

The ideal VPMDI will be a collaborative leader who blends a systems perspective with a healthy urgency to see results. The leadership team is creative, collaborative, forward-looking, student-focused, and accustomed to moving at a quick pace; D'Youville seeks a leader with a similar mindset along those dimensions who will bring a strong voice to the table for mission, diversity, and inclusion.

D'Youville is being assisted by Academic Search, with Scott Flanagan serving as Senior Consultant in this search. Confidential discussions may be arranged directly online or, if that does not work, via email at scott.flanagan@academicsearch.org.

This position is open until filled, but only applications received by Friday, November 5, 2021, can be assured full consideration.
